Science is Patriotic
OUTSIDE BOSTON, MA, 2019: Digital billboards in two locations along I-93 and I-95 address climate change. Funded by the Union of Concerned Scientists, these messages aim to reframe climate science in terms of moral and patriotic duty. The installation is timed to coincide with Easter, Earth Day and, for New Englanders, Patriot’s Day.
Massachusetts was one of the first states to address climate change with regulatory legislation and remains a leader in addressing the issue. It ranks No. 1 for energy efficiency. Yet residents must urge the state to continue its work toward a fully renewable energy future and serve as a model for the rest of the nation.
