NEW HAVEN CT, 1993: The city of New Haven had one of the highest rates of AIDS-related illness among women. The installation, addressing the social, psychological and medical impact of AIDS on women, gives public voice to these women through their recorded testimonies and printed versions of those words.

2017: Women account for 25% of AIDS cases in New Haven. The city has the second-highest prevalence and rate of AIDS infections in Connecticut, after Hartford.
